"I am not only not going to be married, at present, but have very little intention of ever marrying at all"

I am reading "Emma" by Jane Austen atm.

*SIGH*

I so wish I was born in those times!

Obviously I would have to be rich, daughter of a highly respected man, have lots of friends and a big mansion, five maids and a potential lover.

I've reached first chapter of volume II, and it's starting to get exciting. In his drunkeness, Mr Elton has just proposed to Emma and of course she says no, shocked as she is when all the while she was planning and arranging for him to propose to Harriet Smith, the matchmaking Cupid as she is. Convincing Miss Smith of Mr Eltons presumably increasing affection of her when all the while he only had eyes for Emma, oh what misery!

And in the background we have Mr Knightley, the secret hero/hot rod/hunk/lover/mr smart guy/the handsome one/the kind one/the one who does everything right, and I'lll bet my new laptop (well, not really) on Mr Knightley and Emma finding each other in the end. So exciting!!
