Stine, my partner in crime, and myself, went on a weekend road trip along the beautiful roads of southwestern Norway, we didn't have any plans to start with, all we knew was that we were gonna drive heading south and camping in tent by night, and when we drove, we chose direction using heads & tale of a coin. Rules: the direction was south. Heads meant right, tales meant left. The weekend turned out to be soooooooo much more fun than we expected!!!
Here's our story (picture the voice of the guy who always introduces trailers of Disney movies):
We set out Friday evening after work, drove for a couple of hours or maybe more, took some pictures.....
Stopped to camp late at night by the road, so quiet and beautiful, with moon coming up and everything. We put up the tent (yes, we did it! Feeling really proud), got organized, took some more pictures.... made barbecue! So so nice, with ice coffee and strawberries for dessert. Stine played on her guitar (this girl can play the guitar alright!) and we sang, and she taught me to play a song. Got to bed around 1 pm and had a gooooooooood night's sleep......
Day 2 : Woke up early, around 8.30 am, had a swim in the lake around 8.45, soo refreshing! Packed down, and drove to the nearest town (Vikeså) to have breakfast. Started driving again, using the coin (which btw we dropped several times... it's not easy flipping a coin inside a car!).
We came by a sign pointing towards Hauge i Dalane, and Stine exclaimed: I know someone who lives there! In a small village called Nesvåg.Wanna drop by and visit him? I said yes, and so we did. At first we couldn't find out which house it was, cause there was no connection so we couldn't call him. Stine suggested to drive up a narrow road to see if the connection was better higher up, buy the top it was just as bad. two men and a woman were sitting outside the house, and we stopped by them and asked if they knew were we could find good connection. "Nowhere to find," said they. Well then, do you know people around here? They said yes. "Do you know a guy called Kristian Nesvåg?" One of the men laughed.
"Of course," he said, "he's my son! Just drive around the corner there and you'll find him".
How cool is that?!
So anyways, we met Kristian, and he took us sightseeing around Nesvåg. It was so fun! Afterwards we went for a swim, and also met two of Kristian's friends, Frank and Andreas. After swimming (and having a bubble bath in a water fall.... no kidding!) we went on a boat trip.....
Lots of waves, and dark clouds rolling by, which eventually led to heavy rain.....
But that was after we had the barbecue! Or actually in the middle, we had to move inside the boat while Kristian ran back and forth in the rain checking on our food...
In the evening a friend of theirs had his birthday, and of course we joined... Great to meet new people!
Afterwards it was too late anyway to set up tent, so we got to borrow this summer house that Kristian's family rent out for German tourists.. So nice to sleep in a good bed!
Sunday we drove to Flekkefjord, had a brunch, end drove home in the rain...
Altho before we reached home we just had to have an ice coffee first!!
Altogether it's been an amazing weekend, so much fun!
Easily repeatable....
