Thoughts of freedom on a Saturday afternoon

I am sitting on my bed, with the new laptop in front of me. I've closed the door, I can't hear the world outside. The room is filled with Air's "Universal Traveler" coming from the small speakers on my laptop.

It feels like I'm in Tokyo, sitting in the still hot evening, listening to grasshoppers and distant traffic outside. It's dark outside, I am alone, except from the company of good music. I am drinking ice cold green tea. It's hot, I'm barefeet, the fan is on, giving a soft, soothing, yet warm breeze. It's the feeling of holiday, of being a stranger in a completely different culture. It's the feeling that anything can happen, and probably will. The things that are good.

Actually, to burst the bubble, I am sitting in my room in Stavanger growing sicker of this city every minute, longing to be back in Paris again.
To brighten things, I've just recieved my new laptop. Oh joy and happiness! It truly is freedom. Freedom from all the things that are dragging me down.

I was feeling abit down all day today, so eventually I opened my Bible and started reading.
Honestly, if you haven't tried it before, now would be a good time to start.
It's not doomsday and fears of the Devil. It's not judgements and rules.

It's:

Jeremiah 29:11

Proverbs 4:23
Proverbs 31:25

Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:4-7

1 John 1:5

Romans 15:13

Malachi 3:10

And endless other things. I thought about writing scriptures, but it's so much more fun discovering things by oneself, isn't it?

In a couple of minutes Elise is coming up, and we're heading out to the beach for some snorkeling. I can't believe we've never done it before this summer. I've missed diving, and what better alternative is there? I know! I'm really looking forward to it.
